An Open Letter to ANY American

An open letter to every American;

I sincerely hope that in light of the last 18 months, my words do not fall on deaf ears.

I normally have words to uplift, words of perspective that are meant to create churning of hope and happiness. I have no such thing to offer here without first offering a stark account of the truth.

Our hope has been swiftly executed and left for rot. I remained optimistic and observational until now.

Twenty years for nothing. Twenty years in vain.

Countless American soldiers lost — now — for absolutely nothing.

We could once look ourselves in the mirror as American citizens with pride.

1776.

Forging new.

Rebellion for liberty.

Red blood coursing for freedom.

We stood for justice, hard work, integrity, faith.

Now we stand among ruins. Looking around for some kind of meaning in it all.

Those who think this started with Kabul need to take a look around.

Our borders are gone. Our integrity is lost. Our strength is false. Our history is erased. Our sense of morals are rooted in vanity over genuine personal conviction. Our wealth is inflated. Our critical thought and common sense are slain. Our health is dismal and weak. Our leaders are feckless, arrogant, power hungry, talking heads who have no sense of reality.
And worse, our people are divided, hateful, moral-absent, self-righteous, entitled, lazy, selfish and distrusting of their very own neighbor.

We have displaced our great nation with a disgraceful, aimless mess. Yet those who loathe her most, cling to her for the liberation of their very own freedom to express such abhorrence.

The reality is, no one who claims to detest this country have truly any idea of life elsewhere. A life in a room of pillows and comfort creates a spineless dunce who thinks anything firmer than feathers is oppression.

You take for granted the life you know you live and the life you don’t realize you could live. You take for granted most of all, the lives that were taken to grant you yours.

America IS the greatest nation the world has ever known. Full stop. You were born and raised with such freedoms, liberties, rights embedded into your bones that cannot be taken from you. One of which is simply the right to pursue happiness. Name another country who offers such.
And you belch self-pity and complaint because you’re not GIVEN happiness? It says the PURSUIT of happiness, not the handout. Why do you see the American flag raised in every nation in times of tyranny, despotism and persecution? Because even the world recognizes the flag you’re ignorantly standing on represents freedom and hope. With this abandonment in Afghanistan proceeding everything we’ve been through, we will soon represent neither.

For those of you who cannot evolve beyond your intolerance for an irrevocable loyalty to this incredible country, leave. For those of you who MAY consider any view other than your own, listen and observe. For those of you who know what this country means, have bled for Her, prayed for Her and watched Her become flooded with proverbial sewage — it is past time for you to show up.
I speak about most who have been passive while you watched American soil soaked in gasoline and ignited, our leaders statues be torn from their podiums, and our flag be torched. She is overrun by criminals with malice in their hearts who hope to overthrow and behead her. And they are gaining ground, they have already begun to shift the foundation.

I am done entertaining a co-existence with those who wish to burn the ground under my feet.
I am no longer going to entertain the idea of remaining still and faithful. Faith isn’t stillness. “So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.…” — James 2:17–18.

I’m calling you American, hang your flag. Remind them all what country this is. Hang enough that they will understand She cannot be supplanted with transitory ideologies. Show them that they can burn a flag but they cannot extract what it is to be an American from the blood of patriots and eliminate it.
Hang your flag because the days of pretending its not in your front yard are behind us.

Sincerely,

Kara
