“She” — Happy International Women’s Day — Kara Payton
She.
She can fold herself into liquid when she feels it is time to expand.
She knows when it is time.
To flow in or drift away.
She has the rhythm of the universe in her heartbeat.
She rocks to sleep by starlight.
She asks for no permission.
Until she is taught it is prudent to be permissible.
She belongs to herself.
And knows everything belongs to itself.
She knows by inheritance.
Unfolded, she knows nothing is imperfect or without.
She needs not.
She gives from overflow.
She has no need to speak.
She speak in waves, in harmony, in sunset, in glances.
Her energy is indelible.
Leaving those embedded with her touch.
And when pressed down, emptied and abandoned,
she leaves them in wounded ruin.
She knows her power well.
When wandering beyond herself, she refrains from its fullness.
She does so to belong, be accepted, be loved, be permissible.
The deep cost of untrue love has taken her from herself.
She is reminded by the heat of the charred ground beneath her that she has strayed.
She returns.
She strays and returns, each time brushing the path back to herself more clear.
She does not fear but in moments she forgets she is always home.
And then she floats once more, untethered.
She still glances at her reflection to be sure youth and romance is still in her eyes after her heart has been bruised.
Belonging to herself, loved because she is love, enough because she is deep enough to contain the whole universe.
She.
It is absolutely breathtaking that today, I was surrounded by women all day in so many different capacities that when I realized it, I nearly broke down.
I began my day with the voice of a guru I have followed for years as she helped me shift out of a busy and disheartened mindset.
I then joined a coaching mentorship with Kelly Roach, and sat in my car with her in my ears, scribbling notes as quickly as I could as she delivered value to my future as a full-time self-mastery coach.
Afterward, I set myself up in a corner of a coffeeshop to get some focus work done and two women joined me at my table, we barely focused on work but connected with each other and uplifted one another.
In need of some life advice, guidance and wisdom, I scheduled lunch with my aunt, who is one of the most gorgeous souls I know.
I then spent the evening on the phone with my sister, sharing a challenge and recounting options as she comforted, assured and heard me.
Immediately after reading to my sons and guiding them through their bedtime meditation, I spent my night on the phone with a very close girlfriend catching up, discussing big life and love and everything under the stars.
As I counted the blessings and beautiful women I encountered all day, the sisterhood, compliments, kindness, laughter, deep and profound empathy and encouragement that was given and received, I opened a voice message from my girlfriend in the UK who is my accountability partner for writing our books. She sent me a wonderful message of love from overseas, telling me to call her when I wake.
This day was carried by women above and beyond what my heart can contain. We are truly magical creatures. We have effortless divinity. Let everyday be Women’s Day.
