Your circumstances do not have the power to change who you are, you give it to them. You can say, “Well this happened to me, so this is who I am now,” but that is your choice. Your brain is going to try like hell to get you to stay in what it knows, even if it is unhealthy or harmful to you. It wants the familiar, it does not like change. It wants certainty. And so the inner battle is born, hitting the ceiling of what you know needs to happen, but denying it for our comfort. The truth will set you free, but first it’ll make you very uncomfortable. There is only one way out, through. You’ll never be able to push up against something enough to make it go away. In fact, what you resist persists. In order to eradicate some thing you have to focus on something else, what you want, the other side. When you’re in the dark, you do not push against the darkness, you turn on the light. The same is true for our soul. Fortunately, when you resist the calling of your inner being, it keeps calling. Don’t focus on who/where you are because the further you go into that story, the further you drive it in — so let’s top telling that one. Let’s focus on where you want to be. You can be happy when you’re not in alignment with your inner being but it is dependent on conditions to be favorable. And that is ever-shifting and predestined for failure. Align with your inner being and you can be happy without any conditions. You are unlimited. You have no agreements to honor or contracts to your past. You can choose in any moment, what you will think, feel, do and be. Who is that? I’ve walked the most difficult road, one that should have broken me. According to those that know me, I shouldn’t even be able to get out of bed. Yet, I have chosen to walk away from all expectations (even my own) and find the piece of earth within me that is immovable. In standing there, I found my own certainty. There, I am not completed by anything outside of me. There, I need nothing. I am whole, vividly colored, total joy, fully loved, and completely enveloped by the Universe. That exists within you too. If you want to find your way, start with being at home with yourself. XX Kara
